How the HSUS is using religion to stop hunting!

How the HSUS is using religion to advance their cause:

Here is their press release: HSUS

The HSUS is planning a 35 stop nationwide “All Creatures” tour consisting of music clubs and Christian universities. On tour with them is MTV’s 2008 breakout artist of the year ‘Myriad” which includes a video that was produced by the HSUS.

This is one more way the HSUS is manipulating religion to try and take away our hunting/fishing rights and destroy our god-given American rights and values.

Christine Gutleban, the director of the HSUS faith outreach program has this to say, “Music moves people, and combined with a cause, it has the power to transform hearts and minds and to spread the message of compassion and mercy for God’s creatures.”

The tour began September 29th in Washington D.C. and ends on October 26th in San Diego California.

PETA Founder firing off at Sarah Palin

Nov 24th, 2009

Recently, the former Alaska governor took several uncalled shots from Ingrid Newkirk in an “open letter‘ posted on the PETA founder’s blog on November 17. These shots came after the release of Sarah Palin`s new autobiography “Going Rogue”, which is also causing a stir in the political arena.

Newkirk was not happy with Palin`s quote in the book that read, “If any vegans came over for dinner, I could whip them up a salad, then explain my philosophy on being a carnivore: If God had not intended for us to eat animals, how come he made them out of meat?”

Wolves need to be stopped!

Unless you`ve been living in another country or under a rock you can`t help but hear or notice the negative impact the wolf population has had on our big game animals in the western states over the last few years. Sportsmen had a victory this year when hunting seasons were opened on the wolves, however they`re still a big problem. Just a few weeks ago a pack of wolves attacked and killed three of Scott Leeper`s best hunting hounds. Scott Leeper is a lion hunting guide in Wyoming. His dogs whom he raised from birth were maliciously slaughtered by this pack of wolves for no reason other than their own blood lust. Click here for the full story.

Toby Bridges at Lobo Watch out of Missoula Montana has this to say on his blog concerning the wolf population. He also sent this letter out to 350 different organizations including the media, shooting & hunting industry and wildlife agencies. The wolf problem is not being handled even with an open season on them. Here`s what Toby`s letter states: click here. Toby has some great info on his blog regarding wolves and updates on this years harvest.

We want your opinions/facts/stories regarding this matter, email them to us at admin@huntersagainstpeta.com. This information will be sent to the Secretary of Interior – Ken Salazar as well as all wildlife agencies in the west where wolves are a serious threat or will be a serious threat in the future.

Researcher in MN is the target of animal rights activists!

Nov, 24th 2009

A researcher at the University of Minnesota has recently become the target of an animal rights activist by the name of Camille Marino.

The post came last week on the website Negotiation Is Over.com criticizing one of the researchers, Dick Bianco. He has been the focus of a recent Minneapolis Star Tribune story regarding a national campaign by researchers designed to increase support for scientific tests using animals.

Of course Camille Marino denies her post was promoting violence against the researcher, here`s her post: “I believe there is a moral obligation to prevent violence against innocent beings, whether they are animals or humans. If violence will prevent that, it would be justified.”

The FBI is now monitoring his home and are investigating whether it`s a real threat to him or not.

Washington State to Ban Lead Tackle for Anglers

Nov, 24th 2009

This December, the Washington State Fish and Wildlife Commission will decide whether or not to ban lead tackle in lakes known to have the common loon nest there despite not having enough scientific evidence to back up their claims. Washington sportsmen should send comments/complaints asking the Commission to reject this proposal by December first to ensure their voice is heard.

The proposed ban was brought up due to concerns over threats to the state’s common loon population and the assumption that alternatives to lead tackle are available at reasonable prices for anglers, which they aren`t. The proposal bans the use of lead weights weighing less than one half ounce or lead jigs measuring less than 1 ½” in multiple lakes throughout the state where the common loon resides. Click Here to see the rules (scroll to page 20).

“According to the American Sportfishing Association, the proposal cites that 39 percent of loon deaths were due to the ingestion of lead. However, the percentage was determined by looking at less than 30 loon carcasses over a 13 year period from 1996-2008 making the sample size far too small to be considered conclusive or to justify a lead ban.”

Though available, non-lead fishing lures and tackle are more times than not more expensive and may lead to less fishing and accordingly, less revenue for conservation projects. Information from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service shows that Washington ranks fifteenth in terms of annual sportfishing expenditures with anglers generating $210 million in state and local tax revenue through their purchase of equipment.

“If you start forcing more expensive equipment on anglers, you will limit opportunity thus generating less dollars for conservation,” said Bud Pidgeon, USSA president and CEO. “To do this based on sketchy data is not only unwise but it sets the precedent for more rules and regulations without the proper science to back them up.”

Sportsmen must take action ASAP and should send or fax a letter to the Washington State Fish and Wildlife Commission by December first, urging them to not pass any lead ban or similar legislation without proper scientific evidence.

Bob Barker and his anti hunting antics

Nov 4th, 2009

Bob Barker (the former host of The Price is Right) for those of you who don`t know who he is has been an outspoken anti-hunter for some time now. Making sure he`s living up to his anti-hunting name has recently donated $1,000,000 - one million dollars to Drury University in Springfield, MO to aid in his fight to get hunting stopped.

The funds are being used to start an "animal ethics class" as the anti`s like to call it. He also donated another million at the beginning of this year to the University of Virginia starting an "animal ethics class" there as well.

It`s surprising and scary how far animal rights groups have come in the last decade, they`ve managed to start legitimate college/university courses preaching their anti-hunting/animal rights propaganda.

Are there any college courses about hunting, fishing or how well sportsmen manage and protect wildlife?
